ANZAC Day 2026

The history of ANZAC Day can be traced back to 1916 when Australians gathered to commemorate the Fallen at the Gallipoli landings in 1915 in London and Australia. It became a national day of remembrance in Australia, New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders “who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations” and “the contribution and suffering of all those who have served”.

The annual ANZAC Day commemoration has taken place in Antibes on the Côte d’Azur due to the number of Antipodeans living and working around there for some time.

Today, the event is organised under the umbrella of the Provence~Monaco Branch of the Royal British Legion with the support of the Mairie of Antibes, Souvenir Français and Veteran Associations, and is now known as Australian, New Zealand and Commonwealth Day.

We will be celebrating the day with a Dawn Service at 05.30am, followed by breakfast and then a family service at 10.30am.

All are warmly invited to join and if you require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact our Chair or give us a call on 0033 622 351 601.
